Google Chrome 81 is Finally Launched With Multiple Updates and New Features

Google Chrome is the biggest web browsers in the world, and it is arguably the single most popular web browser that anyone could possibly end up using at any given point in time. Hence, whenever an update comes around for Chrome it becomes important for people to pay attention to what this update entails due to the reason that such updates are quite important and can lead to improved experiences when you are using this particular browser all in all.

It is also important to realize that whenever a new update comes around it becomes very important indeed for web developers to start looking into the various ways in which they could end up optimizing their applications, software and services as these are things that need to be taken into account. A big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that Chrome is so popular that if your application, website or extension is not optimized for it then it would end up becoming incredibly unlikely that anyone would end up using them at any given point in time.

The latest update that is coming to the browser, Chrome 81, has been a long time coming. It was supposed to be launched earlier but the fact of the matter is that we are living during a pretty serious pandemic and at the end of the day these things tend to create a lot more delays than you might initially realize. These delays are also caused by the fact that people are not able to go to the office which means they have to work from home and this generally causes a lot of problems that would get in the way of speedy deliveries and the like.

There are a few new things that you are getting with this new version of Chrome. For starters you are going to be able to look into a Web NFC Origin trial, something that was started way back in Chrome 77 and has been optimized in the latest version of the browser. This new tech will allow Chrome to read NFC tags which will facilitate the transmission of small amounts of data between devices or between a device and a particular tag. These are things that matter quite a bit and are most certainly a step in the right direction.

AR support has also come to Chrome which is another really big technology that is going to be a major player as time goes by. Chrome 79 brought a rudimentary form of virtual reality support but this tech has been optimized quite a bit now and the API has been expanded so that a wider range of features can be accessed in this particular area all in all. The WebXR Hit Test API is what is being used in this regard, and it is also being utilized for the purposes of placing objects in the real world into the camera field without too many roadblocks.

All of these are things that matter quite a bit and will contribute towards making Chrome a much better browser which is quite important during the times that we are currently living in.
