TikTok nation to grow, expected to be about 50 Million U.S. users by 2021

eMarketer recently conducted research in which they mentioned that TikTok’s user base is expected to increase in the U.S. by the next year. According to eMarketer, the user base of TikTok grew by 97.5% in 2019, which is expected to be 21.9% for the year 2020.

eMarketer says that the user growth of the U.S. on the TikTok is expected to slow down by 2022, making 50 million users by 2021 and 60 million by the end of 2024.

Another research by Business of Apps pointed out that there were about 800 million monthly active users on TikTok in 2019 at a global scale. Apart from it, the app was downloaded about 738 million times with 46 million coming from the U.S. in the year 2019.

The principal analyst of eMarketer says that 2019 was the breakout year for TikTok and it is one of the most famous app among teens. He further added that many users spend several hours of their day on the app, but it is still lacking behind as compared to its other competitors.

Sensor Tower research also shows that TikTok was downloaded about 1.5 billion times on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

Hence, eMarketer has added in their research that about 21.6% of the users will use TikTok in 2020 at least once a month. From the stats, TikTok appears to be a strong competitor and might turn into a potential threat in the upcoming years. However, the more hype it is receiving, the more questions about censorship, data privacy, etc. are arising.
