After AR models of animals in 3D, Google Search brings the first cloud-streamed 3D models of more than 250 cars

The year 2020 has been quite tough and people had a difficult time managing their kids while keeping them entertained as well as providing them with educational activities too. Google Search introduced Augmented Reality (AR) models of animals and many other scientific objects including molecules, stars, planets, and a lot of interesting biological stuff too. All the user has to do is to type the name of that object in Google Search, and then from the knowledge and information bar, just click on the ‘View in 3D’ option. Large, life-sized animals would start roaming in your personal space within no time. This activity was so intriguing that the kids enjoyed it thoroughly! Parents loved it more because it not only kept the kids entertained (and in one place!) but it also opened new horizons for them to explore and learn new things. So, this activity proved to be entertaining as well as educational, a perfect blend for which parents were happy to hand over their smartphones to the kids for a long time.

In October, Google announced that they are going to bring AR car models to Google Search too. And finally, this feature has rolled out widely (as per Rajan Patel) with around 250 or more car models, ranging from Porsche, Corvette, 2020 Audi R8, and a lot more. For instance, if you try searching out the Porsche Taycan model, when you will see it standing right in front of you in your lounge space, you will be awed by its beauty, color, and amazing build!

You can see all these objects and some other details too in the cars you want to check out but have no time to go to the showrooms and have a hands-on session. Of course, you cannot compare a personal experience with AR, but it is very close to reality besides being an amazing and fun experience.

According to a Google VP, this is the first ever example of a cloud-streamed 3D content on Google Search. Currently, this feature is only available for Android devices. The iOS users can only see the 3D models of cars that are available on their company’s websites. But trust me, those are just simple models that make you look at the car from various aspects. The cloud-streamed 3D model on Google Search is much better and more immersive.

All you need to do is to type the name and model of the car you want to see, and then in the knowledge panel, check out the ‘Explore’ button. It will include the ‘View in 3D’ button too. Once you click it, your favorite car with high detailing from the interior to the exterior will come right in front of you, in your living space, through your phone’s camera!
