Google Maps Street View Tests Out AR Place Markers

If you want to go someplace new, it is highly recommended that you look into Google Street View. Chances are that you already use this platform and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that it can be really useful at allowing you to look into what a place that you are thinking of visiting actually looks like. The best thing to do in this regard would be to make it so that you check Street View in advance, but one thing that should be noted is that Google is testing out an upgrade to Street View that might just change the game entirely when it comes to these sorts of things.

The new feature that is coming to Street View is that of AR place markers. If you check out Street View for a particular place, you would notice that there would be markers hovering over certain locations. Orange markers would indicate that a particular place is a restaurant, blue markers would indicate stores and there are a lot of other markers that are going to be useful in their own way as well.

This can be immensely useful to people that are thinking about going somewhere and want a deeper understanding of the kind of locales that they can go and visit. It will be interesting to see how AR is further integrated into Google Maps, and there might just come a time where you can familiarize yourself with certain areas and learn more about them without having to actually go there. This will also help people that want to move to a different place since they will be able to get an idea of what they can enjoy in different areas based on the kind of AR markers they see when they check out Google Maps.
