WhatsApp tests multi-device support, expiring messages on beta, updates iOS 13

WhatsApp is one of the best chatting apps to have on your phone. It’s easy to use and equipped with a number of handy features that make it one of the most popular messenger – globally.

However, there are some limitations with WhatsApp that devalues it in front of other competing apps.

One of them is the multi-device support.

Other social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Twitter allow users to log in to their accounts with more than a device at the same time. But when it comes to WhatsApp – you are restricted to a single device.

Well, it seems like this will change sooner or later. WhatsApp has released its beta version 2.20.110 and it includes multi-device support. The feature is currently under development and will roll out in the future.

Expiring messages

Another feature making the rounds for WhatsApp is the expiring messages. We reported the feature a few months ago for Group chats. But seems like WhatsApp is planning to integrate the same for all private and individual conversations as well.

Titled as ‘Expiring Messages,’ the messages would be visible for 1 day, 1 week, or a month. The user can set the time as per their preference and the message will disappear within the duration.

Contact sharing for iOS 13

With iOS 13, Apple users finally have the contact suggestion in their share suggestions, as highlighted by Version History. Well, now WhatsApp contact suggestion will also be integrated in the share sheet and allow Apple users to quickly share something with someone they communicate frequently.

The iOS update for WhatsApp is now available on the App Store.
