After “Close Friends” Feature on Instagram, Facebook is now Testing “Favorites” Option for Stories

Many people use stories option on both Facebook and Instagram, however, many people avoid using it since stories become visible to all of the users. To cater to this need of users, Instagram introduced a new “close friends” feature that enables users to let their stories be visible to only those friends that they wish to show.

The “close friends” feature makes users more comfortable to share stories without any fear. Facebook is also found to test the new “favorites” an option that is similar to “close friends” by Instagram. The new feature will enable users to select/make a list of friends to show their stories to.

Jane Manchun Wong, an app researcher posted about this new test that gave an idea of how the update will look like. By making a list of people, you will be able to let your stories available to only relevant people or others whom you trust to share your stories with.

The new update is specifically important for those people who are more concerned about privacy. The idea is obviously taken from Snapchat, the father of inventing stories!

Facebook also introduced a meme-creation app The Whale, which is specifically designed to target younger demographic. So, if you see these apps and features, the experience will be a good one to increase your engagement with relevant people and maintain privacy while staying active on the platform.
