Facebook will Now Prioritize Comments based on their Significance

Facebook is trying to make public post conversations more significant by positioning comments on top that are more meaningful than the rest. Comments with interaction from users who posted it and with reactions or replies from their friends will be prioritized.

These settings will apply by default to public posts on pages or users who have a large number of followers. Whereas, others can also enable these settings manually.

The ranking will also affect the way people will respond to comments, either by liking, reacting or replying. However, users will still have control over their comments to delete, hide or reply to them, along with Facebook who with ‘integrity signals’ can detect and delete comments that may be against the policies of the platform.
"We will continue to take other signals into account so we do not prominently show low-quality comments", explained Facebook's Product Manager, Justine Shen in a blog post. Adding further, "Even if they are from the person who made the original post or their friends."
Following Facebook, Twitter is also on its way to improve the conversations on its platform. Facebook has been continuously struggling to improve its content, as last month it introduced a system that will prioritize original content and videos.

Hopefully this is not the last thing, instead, it would continue to better the quality of the content on the platform.
