Jimmy Donaldson, AKA Mr. Beast Is The Highest Paid Content Creator On YouTube, According To Numbers From 2021

A report from Forbes reveals that YouTuber Mr. Beast has made a total of USD $54 million in 2021, which makes him the highest paid content creator across the platform.

Jimmy Donaldson, known much more popularly as Mr. Beast across the internet, has had a rollercoaster ride of a career. His initial career on YouTube was a rather experimental one, with Donaldson attempting different forms of content in order to sniff out the golden key that everyone on the platform keeps looking for: making content that goes viral. He would first achieve this goal in January, 2017, with a video starring the man himself counting to 100,000. This very random video garnered in millions of views, and made Jimmy realize that going big was perhaps one of the best ways of making it big on YouTube. Since then, Mr. Beast’s videos have been getting larger and larger in scale, going from competitions that grant winners USD $1000 or so to a massive influencer tournament with the winner receiving USD $1,000,000. Mr. Beast’s career has been interesting to follow, not just owing to the constant viral content that the man and his team pump out, but also because of how he’s decided to use that money outside of the YouTube bubble.

A rather major example of Mr. Beast extracurriculars, for lack of a better word, include a massive ad campaign that started back in the day when PewDiePie and T-Series were feuding over being the top most subscribed channel on YouTube. Stepping up for team YouTubers, Jimmy Donaldson bought billboards, on-air ad slots, and radio ad-slots as well, all encouraging people to subscribe to PewDiePie. However, even this paled in comparison to his most praised projects: Team Trees and Team Seas. The former raised over USD $23.5 million, which is the equivalent of the same number of trees being planted across the world. Team Seas, his most recent philanthropic project, is aiming to remove approximately 14,000,000 kg of debris from the ocean, hopefully making waters clearer for everyone to tread through.

2021 was an incredibly lucrative year for Mr. Beast, which may just lead to many other projects such as Team Trees and/or Team Seas being arranged. Take a look at below for more insights on highest-paid YouTubers of 2021/2022.
