A Major Redesign Is On Cards For The 2021 Macbook Pros

We all have been realizing it for a while and finally, Apple takes care of our concerns by planning to go for a major Macbook Pro redesign that is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2021.

The news has been confirmed through a research note written by TF International Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo and it has been further reported by several media outlets including 9to5Mac and Bloomberg. As per the words of Kuo, this is going to be the first major redesign of the MacBook Pro ever since 2016.

The new Macbook Pro is expected to have squared-off sides like the new lineup of iPads and iPhones. So, while the laptop already boasts sharp edges, we might see the top and bottom panels turning out to be more flat as well. The new models will come out in two screen sizes (14-inch and 16-inch) with Apple-designed ARM processors inside.

Kuo has also said that the new Macbook Pros will possess the same heat pipe system of the current 16-inch model for increased thermal headroom and to enable higher performance. The newer models will also have brighter displays with higher contrast.

There are chances that Apple might take back some of the most controversial changes it made in recent years to the Macbook line-up and one of them includes the replacement of the OLED touch bar with physical function keys. The new Macbooks may also have a wide range of ports as the need for dongles has already been taken as a big problem but there is no confirmation about what ports will actually make a comeback.

Probably, the major change in the new Macbook Pros would be of MagSafe magnetic charging connector but we are not sure if the new connector would have anything in common with the new MagSafe accessory system for the iPhone 12.

Apple introduced Macbooks based on the company’s own M1 processors back in November. However, as the newer models are very much identical to the previous editions, therefore, the company hasn’t experienced massive growth in sales. A redesign might help!
