Snapchat Eyes Influencers With Subscriber Count Display

The tale of Snapchat has been one of dogged determination in the face of larger competitors many of whom blatantly steal the things that make this social media platform special in the first place. Snapchat has diversified quite a bit in its attempts to remain competitive in the social media and AR marketplace, and a recent change that is actually quite small if you think about it could have a huge impact and also make it so that the direction that the company is hoping to take would end up becoming a little more apparent.

With all of that having been said and out of the way, it is important to note that this change that we are talking about has to do with people now being able to display their subscriber counts on their public profiles. This might not seem all that useful to some, but it does give influencers an incentive to take the platform a bit more seriously because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing them to show everyone just how popular they are which is rather valuable when what you are earning money from is the influence you claim to have over anything at all.

Snapchat has been a reasonably popular place for influencers and the like, but this change is going to help entice more content creators to get into the mix. With TikTok putting Snapchat’s place as a home for short form content in jeopardy, the kind of future that the social media platform would ideally want to see probably involves smart changes like the one we are seeing here. The likelihood of a top notch platform being sidelined completely is quite low, but at the end of the day Snapchat is not going to want to take any chances.
