Instagram Is Developing A Feature That Will Suggest You Who To Block On The App

Most social networks usually recommend who we may want to connect on their platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram provide a list of users that we may know. However, on the contrary, Facebook-owned Instagram will soon suggest those accounts you may want to add to your block list.

It has been reported that Instagram is working on developing a new feature that will provide you a list of users that you don't want to follow. The platform will not pick random individuals and suggest you to add them to your block list, instead, the social media app (probably based on already available data along with AI) will look for users that you have already blocked on Facebook, Messenger or even Whatsapp.

If the same contacts also have an account on the Instagram app, the app will recommend you to add those people to your block list as well. The feature was spotted by a reverse engineering expert, Alessandro Paluzzi. According to Paluzzi, Instagram is still developing the new feature, and it will ostensibly be made available to people once Facebook would entirely integrate its chating app, Messenger, to the Instagram app.

Recently, the reverse engineering expert also shared a screenshot on Twitter showing that the company is working to integrate Messenger to Instagram. If the company plans to introduce the feature for public use, you will see a ‘Get Messenger in Instagram’ option in Instagram Settings. With the Messenger integration in the Instagram app, you will be able to view Messenger chats in the Instagram DM.

The company is testing these features, and we are not sure yet when Facebook will roll out these features to the general public or they will remain in development phase forever.
