Which Category Of Social Media Influencers Earn The Most?

Social media influencers are earning a decent amount through paid promotions. The price of any sponsored content is based on the category, says a new report from Izea, an influencer marketing firm.

Influencers working on topics like sports, beauty, fashion, DIY, video games and food are charging the most from brands. Whereas influencers talking about music, family life and technology earn the least.

According to the report, athletes and sports influencers earn the most from sponsored content on social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube).

Izea analyzed the rates of sponsored content, the deals that were done through its for social media platforms from 2014 to 2019. The data included millions of deals with thousands of influencers, from local influencers to high profile celebrities.

Sports influencers, which has professional athletes like LeBron James and YouTubers as Dude Perfect, charged around $3,109 for a sponsored post in the last 5 years. Whereas, influencers with the music category on average earned $339 per post from 2014 to 2019.

In the 15 content categories, Izea compared the cost per post on average. The size of the reach of influencers was not highlighted separately, therefore, it means the high profile athletes are mainly responsible for high sponsored post charges.

On the other hand, influencers belonging to fashion, beauty, sports, DIY, video games and football on average earned $1,000 per post. Content creators related to music, family life and technology, on average earned less than $500 per sponsored post.

Izea revealed the cost per sponsored post according to the influencers category. It included:

· Sports: $3,109

The list shows, sports influencers earn the most, followed by beauty, fashion and DIY. Technology is almost at the end of the list but helps in earning better than the family and music category.
"The influencers demanding the most money are those operating primarily on YouTube. In 2019, the average cost for a video on the platform was $6,700, well up on the average cost in 2018 of $4,085.", explained IZEA in a blog post.
People who belong to less earning categories find other ways to generate revenue. Andrei Jikh, a personal finance YouTuber earned $100,000 in 2019 only from YouTube ads that are shown along with his content.

Jikh said YouTube gives the most money for topics like personal finance, financial minimalism, finance, credit cards and brokerages than any other topic.
