2019 is about to end and so Twitter decided to sum up the top tweets for the year. Keep reading to know who top what lists!

Twitter revealed in its 2019’s annual report about the famous tweets, celebs, athletes and artists that topped Twitter in the year.

The most retweeted tweet of the year is World Record Egg, according to Twitter. If an egg can get so famous, why not you? Keep tweeting!

On the second position is a tweet from BTS along with a videos of people chased by a baby bird.

Update: BTS is now the top when it comes to most retweeted tweets and World Record Egg is on second position.

Another famous tweet of the year was by @Keabetswe stating ‘O jewe ka eng’? Meaning – ‘what’s eating you’?

This tweet was retweeted with a huge number of comments and now officially stands in the list of top tweets of the year.


Coming to the game shows, The Simpsons, Stranger Things and Game of Thrones rocked the whole tweeting world. Apart from it, Toy Story 4, Avengers: Endgame, and Joker were the most tweeted movies of the year.

This year, the most tweeted actors on Twitter were Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Chris Evans. In addition, Drake, BTS and Ariana Grande wee on top of the top musicians list on Twitter’s tweets.

How can we Twitter leave the sports behind? After all, the platform becomes a commentary box itself during games. Manchester United, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid topped Twitter’s ranking.

Last but not the least, fire, crying and heart eyes emojis were most used by users on Twitter.
