WhatsApp brings fingerprint lock for Android

The popular messaging service, WhatsApp is rolling out support that would allow Android users to lock their conversations behind a fingerprint. The feature was previously made available for iOS devices and is now rolling out for Android users as well.

According to the official statement by WhatsApp, the biometric authentication will not block calls that are received via the messaging platform. However, it is a handy feature that would add an extra layer of security to the user’s message and other logs.

WhatsApp users can also set a timer that would disable the fingerprint dialog from appearing every time they open the app.

Users who own a fingerprint-supported device can easily enable the new feature by going to Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint Lock

Give it a try and let us know your experience.
