WhatsApp's new Update for iPhone comes with Several Cool Features Including Group Privacy and Mute Notifications Settings!

WhatsApp has recently rolled out an update i.e. version number 2.19.110 for its iPhone app. It comes with two significant changes along with making the Group Privacy Settings global. It should be noted that it is a stable version update, so beta users will have to install the stable version first in order to avail its perks.

As the official history log on the App Store indicates, WhatsApp’s new iPhone update will stop showing notification badges for muted chats on the app icon. Moreover, users will have access to new alignment guidelines that will help them in positioning stickers, emojis etc., while editing media in the messenger. Following these changes is a new splash screen, witnessed not too long ago on an Android beta.

WABetaInfo, known for keeping track of WhatsApp’s features, states that the new WhatsApp version for iPhone makes the Group Privacy Settings public worldwide. Initially, the settings in question were accessible only to the users in Asian countries. The current Group Privacy settings are almost the same as the ones that were rolled out in India earlier this year. The only difference is that except for the “Nobody” option in the Who Can Add Me to Groups settings; the messaging service has brought in a new option i.e. “My Contacts Except”.

This new option will enable a user to choose contacts that will not be allowed to add them to a group. All contacts can be chosen in this option if the user doesn’t want anybody to add them. This new option will replace the “Nobody” option for Indian users from their WhatsApp as well.

Interestingly, WhatsApp has also put out a new support page on its official website that will assist users in regards to their iCloud backup issues. The troubleshooting page contains various potential solutions to why users might be capable of creating or restoring a backup.
