"There is nothing more important in an executive's life than knowing where his time goes". Bruce Alan Johnson.

Do you waste your time at work? Well, we all do. But thing is how do we compare to other and what kind of time waster are we? The team at Officetime put together a list of top 10 non-productive activities. Scroll down to learn in the infographic what can you do to change your time wasting habit.

Quick stats from above graphic

  • Average 22 percent of people spend more than 2 hours per day checking their email accounts.
  • 27 percent of users spend b/w 1 and 2 hours every day browsing the Internet, while 80% users spend more than 2 hours per day.
  • 26 percent of people spend between between 1 and 2 hours watching the TV while 16 percent watch more than 2 hours in a day.
  • Only 10 percent people are found to be super productive who don't procrastinate.
  • 19 percent people spent between 1 - 2 hours everyday putting things off.
  • 18 percent of people spend b/w 60 and 120 minutes per day in meetings, while 70 percent of people spend up to 2 hours per day.
  • 90 percent of people spend more than 2 hours per day on chatting.
  • 16 percent spend between 1 - 2 hours every day in non-business-related conversations.
  • Only 3 percent don't spend any time involved in idle "water cooler" conversations.
  • Approximately 1/3 say they spend no time at all traveling. Presumably, they work from home.
  • 75 percent of people spend up to 120 minutes per day on Twitter, Facebook or other social media sites.
  • 1 in 10 spend  up to 2 hours per day on their smartphones or texting.
  • 8 percent said they spend up to 2 hours a day fighting through red tape.

Track your day with paper or a time tracker. Your memory is fallible. Until you actual log your time, you won't know where your day really goes. Choose a system or app that is flexible and easy or you won't stick with it.
