Twitter Might Start Letting You See How Many People Bookmarked Your Tweet

Elon Musk has been trying to do a lot with Twitter ever since taking the helm, but in spite of the fact that this is the case many of his changes have been questioned. The main priority that Musk seems to be operating under is providing more and more analytics to users, seemingly in an attempt to make them tweet more than might have been the case otherwise.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Twitter will now be adding a brand new insight to the mix. If you are a Twitter user, you may soon have the ability to see how many other users have bookmarked a tweet that you may have posted.

This isn’t the first time that Musk is trying to bring more insights to the table. He previously made the controversial decision to start revealing view counts next to retweets, quote retweets and favorites. This decision didn’t go over well because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up cluttering up the user interface, but Musk proceeded undeterred.

The view count was eventually moved up to the same line as the date and time at which the tweet was posted. This cleaned up the user interface somewhat, but the addition of bookmarks is going to clutter things back up again with all things having been considered and taken into account.

Some might prefer this feature since it can help them to better understand which of their content gets bookmarked, but others are criticizing this as unnecessary. The look and feel of Twitter is starting to become ever more chaotic, and only time will tell whether or not these decisions will pan out in the way that Musk is hoping.

Bookmarking tweets is a useful way to save content for later. However, it has never been used as a metric to gauge tweet performance before. The rollout of this feature could be a crucial litmus test in determining the efficacy of Musk’s efforts with the platform.
