Twitter All Set To Undergo Major Changes Including An Edit Button For All And New Blue Subscriptions

There have been a lot of rumors circulating about Twitter’s new changes under the leadership of Elon Musk.

For starters, a lot of people were not happy with the sounds of Twitter’s Blue subscription being priced at $20. But now, we’re hearing how Musk has rethought the plan and opted to provide it for $8 a month. Yes, it’s still a huge leap from the current $4.99 but hey, at least it’s better than $20.

This service will reportedly also feature the addition of a Verified badge for all blue subscribers and it appears this might just be the incentive people were in search of today.

In case you were not aware, this badge isn’t too easy to obtain for so many users who are desperate for it since day one. But one thing is for sure, it’s bound to be accessible for all if they’re a part of the new payment plan that is outlined as exclusive and premium.

In accordance with that, this verified badge will entail a number of priority replies, searches, and a lot of mentions as well. And Twitter is calling out these features as a top priority on the app. Hence, there’s bound to be no confusion on the matter.

In addition to that, all accounts getting the verified status would have the chance to tweet videos of longer duration and those entailing audio too. The feature is certainly not something new as a lot of people don’t have access to things like this via Twitter Labs.

Last but not least, another major perk worth a mention has to do with premium Blue Subscribers seeing half the amount of ads as regular viewers. And that should really be great for users that regularly utilize the application.

Elon Musk is yet to share with users when these sorts of changes will take place. As of right now, Twitter Blue’s subscription still stands at just $5.

The first time we heard about such a verification arising was way back in 2009 and it was designed to give users an indicator of those accounts that were real and those that were fake. But after a while, we saw how it was possible to get the verified status by simply adding an application.

Remember, there are an incredible amount of applications on the matter and it could be really tiresome for moderators of the app to go through every one of them. So the process was long and daunting and you’d be lucky to be accepted.

Now, Twitter seems to be engaging in the whole tiring process all over again and there will be stricter criteria outlined to filter out those people who did not really require verified handles from those that do.

Next up, Musk is planning on removing Blue subscribers’ chance to make use of ad-free articles as their main incentive for attaining the payment plan. While it was a promise or an exclusive feature that the app made a while back when it first rolled it out, we’re seeing it be eliminated right now.

After almost a year, it’s finally being reversed and we’re not quite sure how denying access to ad-free articles would create the right incentive to attain the new payment plan that has a price hike attached to it. What happened to paying more now and reaping the benefits later?

Last but not least, Elon Musk is all set to make all Twitter users happy by allowing them to utilize the likes of an Edit Button.

Yes, finally the Edit Button could soon be on its way for all users, and not just limited to Blue Subscribers. Moreover, the feature would be giving users a 30-minute period to make amendments to posts so stay tuned!
