WhatsApp Develops New Order Creation Chat Shortcut Among Other Updates

WhatsApp’s main focus these past few years has been to position itself as a central place in which ecommerce can be done because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up allowing it to capitalize on the massive ecommerce trend that has emerged. This instant messaging platform is already a very popular place for businesses to communicate with their customers, but the app is taking this further with the latest update that many beta testers have noted.

This update will provide users with a shortcut that they can tap on to go to an order form. They can then place an order, thereby cutting their interaction time with a business down drastically and increasing the likelihood that they would want to place an order at all. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that shortening the customer journey is a proven way of boosting sales, so this new update from WhatsApp is likely going to be a popular one for most people.

However, this update will only be for Business users, so small businesses will likely need to create orders themselves based on customer specifications. In spite of the fact that this is the case, this update will be a powerful new tool that will drive a lot of ecommerce activity on the platform, something that its parent company Meta sorely needs given the declining fortunes of its former flagship Facebook with all things having been considered and taken into account.

This isn’t the only upcoming new feature for WhatsApp either. The instant messaging platform has also been working on a new way to view status updates, as spotted by WBI. Users will soon be able to watch WhatsApp statuses right from their Chats window, which can make it easier for them to scroll through their various updates and create more of a conversational element to their consumption by promoting people messaging each other right after having seen them. WhatsApp statuses are seeing slowly increasing usage, so this update might try to speed things up.
