Instagram Is Working On New Templates That Creates Reels Faster For Its Users

With Reels turning into a popular feature on a number of social media platforms, it makes absolute sense as to why Instagram is now testing a new feature relating to that.

The app recently began testing templates that would pave the way for a simpler and faster method to make Reels.

Through this method, Instagram says the templates feature will end up giving users the freedom to directly copy different video formats from a number of other Reels, as reported by Insider.

As you may already be aware, Templates have proven to be increasingly popular on apps like TikTok and hence something like this for Instagram would certainly be fruitful.

Many users on TikTok use templates as templates for the leading trends on the app as well as the basis for numerous viral challenges.

At the moment, the Templates update is currently undergoing its beta testing phase and that means only a fraction of influencers have been given access to it.

The news was recently confirmed by tech giant Meta to TechCrunch where they spoke about how the company is always on the lookout for simpler ways to create Reels and this method of developing Reels through already existing templates makes more sense.

Josephine Hill who is a known influencer has recently mentioned how the Templates feature allows users to substitute video clips with their own content. She also revealed how previously, the Templates feature would only provide a limited number of options on a preset basis.

However, the new option gives users the opportunity to use any video on Reels as their template.

This is not the first time that Instagram is following in the footsteps of its competitor TikTok, in terms of features related to Reels. For instance, we’ve seen a similar Remix feature, the option to give visual replies, and also a range of exciting music features being added too.

The move appears to be in line with Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri’s announcement of the app doubling down on all video content and hence we believe there’s more to come.
