Instagram Makes Changes to Discovery and Reels Among Other Updates

The main purpose of any social media is of course to make it so that people can find one another online. Creating social interactions between people is an effective way to ensure that users can get the best possible outcome out of their social media usage because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up making their social circle a lot bigger and they would become dependent on social media in that respect.

Instagram and Facebook have a Discovery page that allows you to find people that you might be interested in getting touch with. With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that up until this point it has been impossible to search for someone with their username. This is a rather curious thing since most people would likely try to search for someone or the other by typing their username in before anything else, but since this is a relatively new section of the platforms chances are that they had been planning to roll this out eventually, reports Alessandro Paluzzi a researcher. As he tweeted that "Instagram is working on the ability to search for people by username or name in the Discovery People page".

Another thing that Instagram has been working on is the ability to pin posts on your profile which is a feature that both Twitter and TikTok have been offering for a good long while now. As per Paluzzi, users will now be able to pin up to three different posts to their profile so that anyone that visits their profile would be able to learn more about them without having to scroll down all that far.

Instagram has also been focusing on improving Reels, and the latest addition that it has made to that feature is the ability to attach a fundraiser to your Reels. That’s something that a lot of influencers tend to do, and what’s more is that average users have been waiting for a feature like this as well. These improvements are a big part of the path that this platform is on, and they are diverse enough to facilitate an upward trajectory with regards to the user experience that people can enjoy.
