Telegram Brings Privacy and Creator Focused Updates to Its Platform

Telegram has managed to become one of the most widely used messaging platforms in the world, and it is the most popular app for this type of usage that’s not owned by Meta (AKA Facebook). With over 600 million active monthly users (and 1 billion installs on Google Play Store), Telegram has definitely made a name for itself, and a range of updates that it is now adding to its app will help users to maintain privacy on the platform if that is what they want to do.

The first of these updates allows users to post in public forums without revealing their name. If they are posting on behalf of a channel they can still do so except now they would have the option to do it anonymously. What’s more is that you can now delete messages by searching for them based on the date at which you sent them which can be useful if you want to remove certain communications that you had taken part in from long ago with all things having been considered and taken into account.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that Telegram is also focusing on creators with these new updates. If you’re a creator that has a group or a channel on Telegram, you can now prevent people from screenshotting any of the content that you post. You can also make it so that only the people that your content is intended for would be able to see it, and this would also restrict people’s abilities to forward this content to others.

All of these changes will be quite welcome, and they will most definitely help Telegram maintain its growth rate as it starts to become one of the most prominent messaging platforms in the world and quickly catches up to better established apps and the like.
