Apple each year finalizes and releases a list of application and games which have been in the lead for that particular duration of the year. This list is definitely the most awaited as iOS users want to know who is leading among all applications and game categories.
This time around for the duration of 2021, the list the tech firm revealed showed some great apps on the top. The ‘Apple App of the Year’ went to ‘Toca Life World’, which was the development from a children’s app making company called ‘Toca Boca’.
The ‘iPhone game of the year’ went to ‘League of Legends: Wild Rift’ by ‘Riot Games.’

The ‘iPhone game of the year’ went to ‘League of Legends: Wild Rift’ by ‘Riot Games.’
While these two were the leading app and game in the iPhone category, the iPad winners in both app and games were different. The leading app in iPad category was ‘LumaFusion’ while ‘MARVEL Future Revolution’ took the game of the year award.
Apple TV and Mac apps also saw different wines in both categories.
Each year, the award winners are those apps which have managed to gain user attention throughout the year based on something unique or something which helps the app. Hence, each year we see a new name making the top of the list, despite it being relatively new.
The previous winner was deemed on the top because of the efforts they showed towards the pandemic, however, the scene with Toca Boca is a lot different than this.
Toca Boca completed a decade in creating games for children and during this time, they have developed over forty games. The efforts they showed during this time span and the wide variety of games they developed for kids, was the reason Apple praised them and put their name on the top of the list.
