WhatsApp is working on a new option that will allow the users to send messages that will vanish after ninety days

WhatsApp is one of the most used messaging applications in the world with more than 2 billion users across the globe. The company always tries to bring the most interesting features so that it can uphold privacy as well as increase the engagement of its users at the same time. Most of the time it happens that users do not want to retain the messages for too long due to some privacy concerns, therefore, the company introduced the auto-disappearing feature for messages after every seven days and this option was introduced by the company for the first time in the month of November last year. Many people complained that self-destructing messages after seven days were too little time so now the company has decided to extend this period to ninety days.

The most interesting part of this new option is that it will depend on users whether they want to retain their messages in their conversation for ninety days. This option might come together with another option to auto-delete messages after every twenty-four hours but that is so far in the initial stage of development as per the sources. According to the report of WABetaInfo, users will be able to use the new feature of auto-disappearing messages in the upcoming WhatsApp beta version on Android devices. However, the company will introduce this feature later on the iOS devices as well.

One thing must in keep in mind that this self-destructing option is meant to destruct the material inside the message after the specified time, but the receiver can still save such messages by sending them to a chat. The messages set for vanishing can only be saved, forward, or copied before they vanish. Prior to this month, the company also launched a feature of ‘View Once” for pictures and videos as these materials will be automatically gone once they are opened by the receiver. The reason for introducing all the possibilities of disappearing messages is to retain the secrecy of the users and now they are given three different options whether to auto-delete their messages after every twenty-four hours, seven days, or even ninety days. The good thing is users will still be able to retain their chats if they want it by turning off the option of auto-disappearing.

For those users who are excited to try this new option, this is not launched publicly yet and it is hoped that the company will make it available to all users as soon as possible.
