Spotify Working on Machine Learning to Aid Podcast Discovery

Spotify is a company that has managed to make a name for itself by enabling people to get much easier access to the content that might have truly mattered to them at any point. This means that the company needs to work on ways in which it can introduce people to more new content because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up making it easier for users to stay on the platform rather than go elsewhere for their listening needs.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that one area that Spotify has been working on quite a bit involves podcasts. From an exclusive deal with Joe Rogan all the way to a boom in more podcasts being available on the platform, Spotify is most definitely trying to expand its content library so that it contains more than just music. This is necessary since it can prevent the experience from becoming stale or boring and it can also end up catering to more people by offering a wider range of audio entertainment options instead of being one dimensional.

A new development that has arisen involves Spotify trying to work on machine learning. This would essentially enable people to find podcasts that are of interest to them. We have already seen some examples of this with music recommendation, so it was only a matter of time before something like this was used for podcasts. It is a little different with podcasts though since they are not often split into genres, but with the medium becoming ever more popular chances are high that there will be more categorization to make it easier for people to find the content that truly matters to them and pertains to their interests in some way, shape or form.
