Twitter to Give Complete Control Over Who Can Reply to Your Tweets

Twitter is a social media platform that has seen an interesting development. From being one of the two major social media platforms including Facebook to its slow descent into obscurity all the way to its resurgence as an ethical and morally conscious alternative to the now monolithic Facebook and its subsidiaries, the story of Twitter is one of constant innovation and this has allowed it to occupy a unique space in the hearts and minds of its hundreds of millions of users.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that while Twitter is certainly popular with its loyal user base, this does not change the fact that it has ended up becoming a pretty chaotic place with trolls and harassers often making it impossible for people to have civil discussions of any kind. Because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up compromising Twitter’s future, the social media platform has given a lot of controls to users including the option to make it so that you can choose who can reply to your tweet before you post it.

Now, as per Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter is working on an updated version of this feature. This would be a permanent setting that would only allow people that follow you to reply to your tweets. This would be quite convenient because of the fact that you wouldn’t have to decide who gets to reply with each and every tweet. Instead, you can choose one setting as the standard and all of your tweets would conform to these settings. People that face a lot of backlash on Twitter can prevent trolls and harassers from abusing them online, and this is a really important step that this platform has now ended up taking.
