Facebook Adds ‘Santa’ in Messenger Kids – New Christmas-Themed Features Now Available

Facebook has announced a new set of Christmas-inspired themes for Messenger Kids. According to the snippet shared by the tech giant, Facebook Messenger for Kids will enable children to talk to Santa along with other features.

Facebook did the same last year. However, this year parents can see and respond to the messages the children share and get insight on what gifts your child wants.

The options for Santa messaging can be toggled on through the app settings and will be available till January 6th.

Additionally, Facebook is including a set of seasonal AR effects, stickers and frames to allow children to express their holiday spirit. Moreover, customizable digital holiday cards will be available allowing parents to send to their kids via the parent dashboard.

Messenger Kids has become one of the prime modes of communication for youngsters amidst the COVID-19 lockdown. in fact, the Wall Street Journal reports the number of daily active accounts on the platform to grow by more than 3.5X since the beginning of March with the app being downloaded some 2.8 million times in April alone.

And with holidays being different this year, we can expect the app to gain more momentum as children find innovative ways to connect with their friends and Santa both!
