You Can Now Find A Song With Google, Only By Humming, Whistling or Singing A Melody

Has it ever happened that you got hooked to the tune of a song but were unable to find the title of it?

Well, while it's a very relatable problem for a lot of people on a daily basis, Google is here with a solution for it that you will absolutely love. The company has devised an impressive feature that will now guide users to the name of the song only by asking them to sing a melody, hum, or whistle according to the tune that one is looking for.

So, in case if you don’t know the lyrics and can sing the tune well, you can try out your luck for finding the song with the following steps.

  • Go to your Google App and click the mic icon only to say “What is this song?”
  • This will lead you to the option of clicking the “Search a Song” button
  • You will then have 10-15 seconds to hum or whistle
  • Bear in mind that you don’t necessarily have to be perfect in order for Google to guess right
  • And finally, Google will then showcase the closest options for you to choose from.

Furthermore, for people who use Google Assistant, all you would be required to do is “Hey Google, what’s this song?” and then begin with humming the tune.

Google has rolled out with this feature in English only for iOS users. However, you can try out songs from 20 other languages on the Android devices though.

It is expected that Google will expand this feature to more languages very soon!
