Pinterest Rolls Out Shopping in UK, Adds New Marketing Features Ahead of Holiday Season

Pinterest’s story is quite an interesting one, and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that the social media platform used to be quite the underdog but is now making a lot of headway and this is partly due to the reason that it has expanded into eCommerce in a lot of ways. While a lot of people in the US have started shopping thanks to Pinterest, the social media platform needed to expand in order to keep itself competitive. Pinterest is now doing so by rolling out shopping to users in the UK as well as adding a bunch of new marketing features that are going to be great for brands trying to drive up purchases during the critical holiday season.

One new method of marketing that Pinterest now offers brands is the chance to advertise in the shop tab which can help brands target users that are searching for products and services similar to the ones that they are offering. The social media platform has also added new insights that would help brands ascertain conversion rates for verified merchants in the US. This can help brands figure out how effective their ad campaigns are at getting users to make a purchase.

All of these things are coming together to make Pinterest a pretty valuable piece of real estate as far as advertising and marketing is concerned. With Facebook facing heavy backlash for its alleged suppression of free speech and refusal to take down harmful ads, and this might lead to a lot of brands turning to Pinterest as a more wholesome as well as affordable option. Not only this but the expansion of advertising to the shop tab is something that is new to the platform which might further entice brands to try it out.
