Apple is Working Hard to Create a Google Search Alternative

Apple and Google are often seen as rivals, but it is important to note that these two companies often need each other as well. While their operating systems often compete with one another, they also cooperate quite a bit because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up helping both of them grow far more than might have been the case otherwise.

The reason behind this is that Apple relies on Google’s search engine, and Google gets a lot of money from Apple that it needs in order to facilitate the various other projects that it is trying to get off the ground. Antitrust litigation that is being conducted against Google is leading to a lot of problems in this regard for Apple especially, and this has made the tech giant start to do a bit of research into developing a search engine of its own.

This has created an opportunity for Apple. While it might not like the fact that it is being forced to focus on developing new tech that it could just buy from someone else, at the same time the tech giant would relish any chance to topple Google’s monopoly in the world of search engines. We have already started seeing examples of Apple trying to subvert Google’s influence, and the biggest example of this can probably be seen in the latest version of its mobile operating system iOS.

Whereas previously anything that you searched through the search bar would be run through Google search, iOS 14 has made it so that a number of sites would be shown to you before you have to press the search button. This means that you don’t have to go through Google and Apple would provide you links and results directly instead.
