Instagram Stories Get More Priority Due to Continuous Surge in Usage

Stories was initially a feature that was pretty much exclusively offered by Snapchat, and the fact of the matter is that it was a pretty popular feature. Facebook decided to integrate this feature into its own properties and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that Snapchat was targeting demographics that Facebook was struggling with at the time, and Stories have become very popular indeed especially on Instagram where they have been seeing a steady rise in both usage as well as prioritization on the company side.

A couple of months ago, Instagram decided to offer a double row view of stories. Basically, whereas previously you would see a single row of stories that you could look into on the platform now you would be able to see two rows which would allow you to get sneak peeks at more stories which is the sort of thing that Instagram would definitely want since it is trying to push the usage of this feature as much as possible since it was getting a lot of engagement.

A new update that is being tested out would make it so that you might just end up getting a full screen array of the various stories that you could potentially end up checking out. This is something that Instagram has been experimenting with since at least April if not even earlier than that, and the fact of the matter is that the social media platform is now testing it quite widely which means that normal users might end up seeing it rolled out to them.

Instagram is in many ways becoming a Stories centric platform, and while the regular timeline is just as important Stories have quickly started to become even more important for a wide variety of reasons and this could tell us a very important tidbit about the direction that Instagram might just end up taking in the near future.
