Twitter Shakes Up Corporate Culture By Allowing Indefinite Work From Home Privileges to Employees

One of the major changes that is occurring in the world at this current point in time has to do with the fact that there are a lot of alterations being made to corporate culture. Whereas previously coming in to work at an office was a very obviously necessary requirement of the job, these days the norm is to work from home.

It should be noted that this trend is due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the fact of the matter is that people are starting to notice the benefits of working from home. Twitter is leading the charge in this regard by announcing that all of its employees would be able to work from home indefinitely, taking the lockdown situation as an excuse to test this kind of work methodology out and finding it to be more or less useful in a wide variety of ways.

While there are going to be a lot of employees who would have to come to the office at least on an occasional basis, many if not most employees would definitely choose to work from home if this is the option that is given to them, and a big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that it leads to a happier and healthier work/life balance, something that a lot of studies are proving to be true.

Twitter has always lead the way with progressive practices especially regarding its employees. However, just because of the fact that it is doing something that employees would like does not mean that this is a smart decision from a business standpoint. Only time will tell whether or not allowing employees to work from home is the right decision, or if it might end up bringing productivity down by a large margin.
