With all of that having been said and out of the way, you probably know that not all apps are all that great or even fleeceware. They might have a feature or two that you would want to utilize but for the most part there is nothing you can really do about this sort of thing since downloading the whole app is pretty much the only option that you would currently have at your disposal.
However, the latest version of iOS by Apple might just change all of this. According to 9to5mac, this feature would be called “Clips”, and it basically allows you to test specific features from apps temporarily without having to download the entire app.
If you get a QR code that would open a specific app but you don’t already have that app, this means that you would end up getting the link opened in Safari. The difference now would be that you would be able to temporarily use the app the QR code is associated with which is the sort of thing that can definitely end up being a big help all in all. For example, if you get a QR code for a YouTube video, this means that you can actually watch the video in the app without having to download it which will greatly expand the kind of usage you can get from your phone.
