Instagram Direct is Reportedly Working on a "Shared" Section for Saving Posts!

Like Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct has made our lives easier. It allows us to directly communicate with one or more Instagram users. Through it, we can also share posts that appear in both the Feed and Stories as messages.

Support for sharing stuff is one of Direct’s most important applications. People share Feed and Story posts with their friends all the time. So, the Facebook-owned media sharing service thought about capitalizing on it as Direct may soon be getting a game changing section added in it.

According to one of the most reliable Tech news breakers Jane Manchun Wong, Instagram is working on a “Shared” section in Direct. It will feature all the “Posts” and “Photos and Videos” that get shared in the chat. Wong also included a screenshot in her tweet, giving us a sneak peek at the new section.

The section will appear once the user accesses “Details” of any particular conversation. In the details, all shared “Posts” and “Photos and Videos” for that specific chat will be present. Facebook Messenger has a similar section for photos as well.

As of now, it isn’t known when this section will go live. However, it will surely be a welcome addition and will help users in retrieving shared stuff more easily. Stay tuned for further updates in this story.
