Facebook is Reportedly Getting an "Instagram-like" Camera UI for Story!

The Story feature is quite popular these days, especially when it comes to Facebook and the Apps and Services it owns. Out of all these services, Instagram has been working on it the most for the last several months. Facebook itself hasn’t been left behind as well.

A few days ago, renowned App Researcher Jane Manchun Wong spotted an interesting change in Facebook’s Story Camera UI. She then proceeded to tweet about it. It should be noted that the feature/change we will be talking about is currently in the testing phase so it shouldn’t be live (if you decide to test it yourself).

Wong posted about Facebook working on an Instagram-like Story Camera UI. In the screenshot shared by her, it can be seen that users will now be presented with different options such as photo, video and others. Users will be able to switch between these different modes with just a single swipe.

There can be two reasons behind the change. First one can be the service’s desire to keep the UI different for Story camera and the Standard one. The second reason can be Facebook’s idea to have a uniform UI for the Story camera across all of its Apps and Services.

As of now, the new design is being tested and its exact release date is unknown. However, we will keep you updated with any potential developments in this story.
