YouTube VR's presence in Oculus Quest launch is confirmed

YouTube will boost the content on Facebook's Oculus Quest Virtual Reality (VR) Headset by being in the launch titles as YouTube VR app for the device which is going to release on Tuesday.
"Since the initial launch of the YouTube VR app in November 2016, we’ve been focused on bringing the app to as many people with a VR headset as possible. It’s already available on Daydream View, HTC Vive, Playstation VR, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Go and Oculus Rift. And when Oculus Quest becomes available on Tuesday, May 21, the YouTube VR app will be available as a launch title.", announced Julia Hamiton Trost, Head of VR/AR Content & Partnerships and and Kurt Wilms, Product Lead, VR, in a blog post.
The release of VR application will give users an option that they can watch on this headset which is hoped to connect PC and mobile VR by being wireless which can be bought in lesser price of $399.

Therefore, it is hoped by makers and Facebook that Oculus will make VR more appealing to mainstream consumers, as YouTube VR app will unlock its million VR and 360 degree videos to Quest.
"YouTube is a platform traditionally centered around 2D, but there’s also a lot of energy and interest in emerging formats such as 360° and VR180 content.", explained Wilms in an interview on Oculus blog.
Moreover, the Google-owned video hosting site, which is used by 2 billion people every month, announced to make VR accessible due to which the company has been widening its YouTube VR Creator lab to Europe and accepting applications.
