Twitter Tests a new Option For Live-Streaming to Increase User Engagements

Twitter is testing another option for its live-streaming feature, which will let the user invite guests in live streaming. Just like Periscope – Twitter’s live-streaming app, guest participants can join stream in audio format.

Matt Navarra, the social media expert discovered the option on Twitter, which will enable Twitterers to invite guests and remove them whenever they want. The same model as Periscope is followed by the social media app, in which three guests can be added into the stream at any time.

Periscope launched this option back in February, whereas, other social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, introduced it long ago in which guest participants can be added to the video by splitting the screen.

After introducing the live-streaming feature on Twitter directly, Periscope may face a negative effect, as its user base is not that large. From a while, it has not even released the official usage stats of the app.

On the other hand, Twitter has been focusing on increasing its users as well as engagements and incorporating Periscope would be a win-win situation for the company.
