Instagram reportedly working on a game-changing feature!

And just when you think that Instagram can’t get any better, it goes on to prove everyone wrong. Jane Manchun Wong (known for uncovering unreleased app features) recently tweeted about a new feature that Instagram is working on. If the testing turns out to be successful, it can be a game changer for Instagrammers.

The feature which we are talking about is the Augmented-Reality Effects. A new tab on profile for this feature is being tested out currently. Wong attached a screenshot with her tweet too, showing the feature being implemented. Wong also explained a little about the content in the Effect tab, which will likely originate from the Story Highlights, blended with AR Effects.

As of now, it looks like the feature in its initial phases will just be a slight update to the "Filter" feature. However, if it sits well with the users, there’s no limit to the improvements that can be made.

Social media industry geek, Matt Navarra also shared Wong’s tweet and in the comment thread, there’s an ongoing discussion regarding how the feature is already available to a limited amount of brands, and that it is expected to roll out to iOS devices first.

Nothing is set in stone for now and only time will tell what’s in store for this feature and the Instagram users.
