Google’s Activity Cards Get Even Better

Google is making its search engine even better than it was before, and the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of benefits that people are going to gain from the various updates that are being bestowed upon us. One of the updates is the fact that you are now going to see activity cards that are going to help you remember what you search for previously on the platform. For example, if you searched for something like health and fitness before, you are going to get a list of all of the web pages that you ended up visiting as well as a variety of other information.
"We’re launching new activity cards to help you pick up where you left off. If you’re logged into your Google account and search for topics and hobbies... you may find an activity card at the top of the results page that provides easy ways to continue your exploration.", announced Andrew Moore, Google search product manager, in a blog post.
Basically what Google is doing is that it is giving you information related to your query that you have already discovered through your Google searches, something that is going to make things a lot easier for you in the long run in terms of the kind of information that you are able to acquire from a specific kind of search.
"If you want to mark a page to read or reference later, just touch and hold the link to quickly add items on your activity card to a collection. You can access your collections (saved items/links/images) by tapping the menu on the top left of the Search page (on mobile web), or through the bottom bar of the Google app.", explained Google search team.
All of that being said, there are probably going to be quite a few people out there who might get a tad nervous about the fact that Google is recording their search history in this manner. Hence, if you see an activity card with search history that you don’t want there anymore, one thing that you can do is that you can look into deleting the specific entries that you don’t want there. You can also delete all of your search history of course. Google is also going to give you the ability to turn the cards off entirely which is going to be pretty useful for people that want to use the search engine in a manner that is as old school as possible.
