Snapchat lenses can be used outside the app, a partnership with Twitch also announced

You can now use Snapchat lenses in Twitch, Google Hangouts, and other desktop appsSnapchat has released its desktop version that could be used on other desktop applications. In the series of new changes, a partnership with Twitch was also announced so Snapchat lenses could be used during streaming on Twitch. It's the first time that Snapchat is launching its apps for the desktop.

Now, Snapchat is available for Mac and Windows. You can access Snapchat's library of lenses. The lenses made by other users can also be accessed via Snapchat's Lens Studio Software.
"We are excited to introduce Snap Camera: a free application designed for desktop that invites anyone to experience the fun of Lenses while using their computer," said Snap Team in a press release.
Once you install Snap Camera, you'll be able to use it as the camera output for various apps including Google Hangouts or Skype. In partnership with Twitch, a dedicated extension would be used within Twitch so game streamers will be able to use the augmented reality (AR) affects during their live stream. Lenses will also be offered to fans if they subscribe to their channels.

The success of Lens Studio product motivated the company to go for more user-generated lenses and the figure will be crossed by 250,000 lenses, said Eitan Pilpski, Snap's VP.

Snap Camera will possibly help Snapchat to stop its losing users and will not rely on its mobile app. To use Snap Camera, the Snapchat account is not necessary. And its partnership with Twitch will bring a larger audience as compared to its mobile apps features.

Another feature is also added as the users will now be able to share their stories outside of the Snapchat app.

Snap is not coming slow and another series of important updates is on its way and we may witness some more amazing features in the coming days.
