Every month, the folks at Bitly encodes more than 600 million links and processes 8 billion clicks on those links. With all this activity, they have incredible insights into behavior on the social web.
The infographic below, illustrates the major social media trends that Bitly saw in Q4 2014.
Some key highlights:
• Facebook influence increased significantly from Q3 to Q4, with the largest boost (30%) coming from mobile devices.
• Traffic from Twitter dropped slightly from Q3 to Q4 in 2014. Although traffic fell across devices, traffic from desktop and tablet were hit the hardest.
• Mobile devices continue to drive the most traffic for Facebook and Twitter. Mobile devices drove 37 percent of traffic in Q4 of 2013, compared to 53 percent in Q4 of 2014.
