To find out just how important it is to monitor your social presence, Mention (a social media monitoring app), analyzed 35.7 Million brand mentions on Twitter. Here are some key stats from the study:
30 percent of tweets containing company names don't include their Twitter handle. So it's important for brands to use a media monitoring tool that track mentions and keywords.
Only 9 percent of tweets mentioning companies start with the @ (mention). Therefore, brands on Twitter should look beyond direct mentions to keep a pulse on their reputation.
