Lenovo, HP, and Dell Lead Global PC Recovery as Laptop Sales Rebound

After nearly two years of sluggish demand, the global PC market has begun to steady. Sales rose modestly in the second quarter of 2025, with major players like Lenovo, HP, and Dell regaining ground as supply chain issues faded and enterprise demand picked up.

As per CPR data, Lenovo held the top position worldwide, shipping close to 14.7 million units between April and June. That gave the company a solid lead over its rivals, even as overall shipments remained below pre-pandemic highs. HP followed with about 13.7 million units shipped, buoyed by stable performance in North America and key parts of Europe. Dell came in third, moving just under 10 million devices, keeping its business-focused portfolio intact amid growing workplace upgrades.

Apple saw a modest climb, shipping just over 5 million units. The company benefited from strong back-to-school demand and interest in its M-series chip devices, though supply constraints remained a concern. Asus and Acer rounded out the top six, each shipping over 4 million units globally, with better traction in Southeast Asia and parts of Latin America.

The modest rebound is being seen as a sign of stabilization more than full recovery. Many consumers and businesses had already refreshed their devices during the pandemic’s peak remote-work period. Analysts expect real momentum to come only with broader AI adoption or system refresh cycles in 2026.

On the supply side, easing component prices helped vendors manage costs, but currency shifts and lingering inflation in several regions continued to affect margins. The market also saw improved channel inventory management, reducing the risk of overstock that had pressured prices last year.

While overall figures showed improvement, the gains were not uniform. Growth was stronger in the United States and parts of Europe, while markets in China and other parts of Asia showed uneven results due to local economic conditions.

Looking ahead, manufacturers are watching for clearer signs of enterprise upgrades and AI-driven hardware needs. For now, the top brands are focusing on efficiency, restrained inventories, and keeping their grip on a cautious but gradually recovering market.
