Apple Accused of Misleading Users about AI Features on iPhone 16

iPhone maker Apple is being accused of falsely misleading its iPhone 16 users.

The tech giant may have promised to deliver the best AI features, but it certainly fell short of them, as per a new report published by BBB. We’ve been hearing about the Apple Intelligence at last year’s WWDC, but it was not available when the launch occurred in September.

Instead, the firm chose to release features in pieces, like October and then December. Even then, it’s still underdelivered as the newest Siri is nowhere to be seen, and no release date is in sight.

Several lawsuits are running against Apple for what it says are deceptive AI marketing tactics.

The NAD reviewed iPhone 16’s marketing materials and made a conclusion that it was misleading. Now, you can find that the top of Apple’s Intelligence web page is displaying the Available Now banner. They tried to reasonably convey the fact to shoppers about using features immediately after buying a device.

These features entail priority notifications like ChatGPT integration, Image Playground, and even Genmoji. The iPhone maker padded claims by adding tiny footnotes and tiny print. These were not clear or visible to everyone, and that’s why Apple is being recommended to avoid passing on messages about features that aren’t on offer.

Apple disagrees with the findings of the NAD and mentioned how they need to update the claims, but they are grateful for the chance to work alongside them and would be open to following recommendations.

Apple’s claims regarding Siri are speaking about how it’s now present under the Available Now headings and has promised to give users the best voice assistant with great new features. Now, it’s getting rid of the terms Available Now so it doesn’t make the same mistake again.

A new video showed the latest offerings and created a lot of hype amongst clients, but that also misled them, as they expected so much but got little to nothing in return. Thankfully, they’ve now pulled the video down, but it’s not fun and games to expect something at premium costs and then be told it does not exist or will come soon.

Apple’s final statement on Siri has to do with the features not being up for grabs on the actual timeline and how it updated all promotional materials and altered claims with disclosures to communicate status.
