Elon Musk To Sunset Reply, Retweet And Like Numbers To Improve "Readability"

Elon Musk's vision for X, formerly known as Twitter, is a "cleaner" looking timeline, even if that means sacrificing basic functionality or usability.

Musk has already deleted embedded headlines and their meta descriptions from posted article links, and now he plans to also delete the numbers of replies, retweets, and likes on posts shown in the timeline, leaving only "view count."

He said the change would “greatly improve readability.”

This is likely an attempt to hide people who get "ratioed," i.e. tweets with far more replies or quote tweets than likes, and to artificially increase interaction and "engagement" on the site.
