WhatsApp Launches Data Transfer With QR Code

Switching to a new phone can often be a great achievement because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up giving you the latest tech. However, transferring all of your chats from your old phone to your new one can sometimes make this experience less enjoyable than might have been the case otherwise. It turns out that WhatsApp is attempting to fix this issue once and for all with its QR code based data transfer method.

With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that users will soon be able to transfer all of their chats simply by scanning a QR code. This will make the process considerably easier than might have been the case otherwise, and the process by which this can be done is also quite simple.

In order to transfer all of the data, you need only open up WhatsApp on your old phone and head into Settings. In this section, you will find a Chat subsection which itself will have a Chat Transfer option with all things having been considered and taken into account.

Once you select the chat transfer option, you will be presented with a QR code which you can then scan through WhatsApp on your new phone. There might be some concerns surrounding the security of this data transfer method, but in spite of the fact that this is the case, WhatsApp is assuring users and consumers that this is far more secure due to the lack of third party involvement.

Previously, a user would have had to back their chats up on the cloud, and cross platform compatibility could be a real nuisance as well. While WhatsApp offered a way to transfer data from an iOS to an Android phone, this instant transfer method will be far superior in a variety of ways. This new update will allow users to utilize multiple phones and sync their chat history between them, potentially leading to an unparalleled era of inter device compatibility as well as cross platform functionality.
