American States Are Passing New Laws That Restrict Users Below 18 From Using Social Media Without Parents’ Consent

We might be seeing a new sign that relates to changes in the world of social media and its respective regulation.

This news comes at a time when some American states like Utah in the US pass new laws that restrict individuals below the age of 18 from making use of platforms without attaining parental consent.

A letter was launched in this regard that spoke about how the changes would be applicable to all Utah citizens starting March 1st of this year. Moreover, all citizens would need to confirm their respective ages so they can use social media apps or face the consequences linked to loss of access to their respective accounts. This would be as per the changes outlined in the bill by Rep Michael McKell.
