OpenAI CEO Says AI Will Empower People Economically, Not Steal Their Jobs

If you have been keeping up to date with the goings on with ChatGPT and have found yourself getting nervous about what might be around the corner, you should know that you’re not alone. Countless people have been feeling pretty much exactly the same way because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up taking their jobs away from them.

With ChatGPT doing things like passing an MBA exam from an Ivy League university all the way to writing the lyrics to a song, plenty of people have started to get concerned that they might not be valuable at their jobs anymore. In spite of the fact that this is the case, the CEO of OpenAI seems to think otherwise.

According to Sam Altman, who serves as the chief executive of the company behind ChatGPT Open AI, artificial intelligence will be a tool that actually empowers people economically rather than taking their financial freedom away from them. He went so far as to say that the rise of AI will make far more people rich than might have been the case otherwise.

This is something that can actually be seen in fields like the law, where lawyers are using chatbots like ChatGPT to get through the more boring bits of their day to day tasks. Workers can also use ChatGPT and other chatbots that are at a similar level of complexity to help them out with things like applying for jobs or asking their superiors for a raise.

One thing that Altman touched on was that AI is going to keep evolving and changing with the rest of society. He even said that trying to predict the future of AI in any way was likely going to end in failure, and that anyone who is trying to make such bold claims like doesn’t truly know what they are talking about.

The future of AI might be hard to predict, but it will certainly shape the direction of the rest of humanity’s story. OpenAI will be at the center of that at least for now.
