Google Releases Teaser Of New Widget That Encourages Users To Stay At Home

Google Maps is always on the lookout for ways to add ease and convenience to its users’ lives. For instance, you no longer need to worry about finding the location or directions to your next spot because Maps takes care of it.

Similarly, widgets are a helpful tool on your home screen. Be it an analog clock or perhaps a tool used for tracking the best coffee shop in your area- you name it and the company has got it. And it wouldn’t be wrong to say that they don’t plan on giving up on Android, anytime soon.

We feel each design deserves a checkout and is a great way to interact with the app’s Maps too.

The latest widget to the Google Map series was recently released by the company in the form of a teaser. Moreover, it’s a little different than the usual ones that mostly focus on ways to get on board with your favorite location. Instead, this new addition actually happens to be in the form of a map that usually opens up to display what the local traffic situation is like around your area and the one near to your specified location.

You can simply zoom in by clicking on the button so that’s another great feature added to the functionality.

We won’t lie, the thought of traffic updates makes us all cringe but we are definitely shocked that it took the company this long to allow live maps to enter our home screens.

It’s a very obvious choice to roll out a feature where users can see what the live road and traffic situation is like, moments before heading out.

We should expect to see the new update launch in a few weeks as confirmed by Google. That in turn means school-going students can’t benefit from it until they go back to school in the fall. But for all the rest of us, we bet this widget is sure to come in handy.
