With all of that having been said and now out of the way, it is important to note that iOS users have gotten an upgrade a while ago that solved this problem quite effectively. This update essentially allowed you to play your voice notes with some kind of a background audio player, thereby enabling users to navigate away from chat windows without having to interrupt the voice note that they are listening to which had been rather frustrating to put it mildly.
Android users had not been given the same feature for a good long while, but the great news for them is that it is finally getting rolled out in the Android version of WhatsApp, as spotted by WABI. Now Android users will see a play bar above their messages when they navigate away from a chat window in which a voice note is being played, and they can pause, rewind and forward this audio as well as they see fit.
The fact that WhatsApp updates take such a long time to hit Android phones can be a truly annoying thing for these users to go through, but many of them would agree that it’s better to get these features late than to never get them at all with all things having been considered and taken into account. Hence, this update will be a welcome change to the WhatsApp UI, one that will boost its functionality in quite a wide range of ways. Voice notes might become more popular thanks to how easy to use they will now be.
